Administrative Guideline - 9120b Photographs/Pictures

The Corporation has a need for photographs for use in personnel records, student records, school newsletters, web sites, videos, general public information, and the like.

 A. A photograph of each student enrolled in a Corporation program should be obtained, if possible, at the time of enrollment or as soon as possible thereafter. One source is the local corporation which often maintains duplicates or can obtain one from the school photographers.

 B. Whenever possible, a recent photograph should be obtained from each staff member and from each new staff member, upon employment. The photo shall be kept in the staff member's personnel file for use primarily in publicity about the staff member and/or the Corporation.

 C. Commercial use of personal photographs shall be prohibited without specific approval of the parent and/or staff member. Group photographs (two (2) or more students) of a general nature may be used for public relations, media press releases and web site display; however, individual photographs require a written approval from the parent/staff member prior to use.

 D. Photographs and video footage of students and or school events maybe recorded and reproduced on printed information, television programming, web sites, and the like.

PARENTS WHO ELECT TO NOT HAVE THEIR STUDENT PHOTOGRAPHED / VIDEOTAPED SHOULD SUBMIT IN WRITING THEIR REQUEST ON A YEARLY BASIS TO THE BUILDING PRINCIPAL.
